Our Vision
We aim to promote a happy and caring school, where effective teaching and learning take place.
We want all children to recognise and achieve their full potential, while being helped to become responsible and courteous members of society.
This is echoed in our school emblem which shows the children at the centre of all that we do – the open door symbolises the open partnership that we believe enhances our children’s education.
Our school strives:
To provide a broad and balanced curriculum which allows children to develop intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally, morally and aesthetically.
To enable children to learn and develop skills, attitudes and understanding which prepare them for their developing lives.
To encourage children to become independent and to develop as individuals.
To encourage children to develop values such as honesty, fairness and respect.
To help children distinguish right from wrong behaviour.
To provide a safe and secure school environment.

At Newton Primary School
we aim to:
Challenge and encourage your child's needs and aspirations.
Promote the traditional values of work and respect.
Be a modern school that is well equipped to deal with the changing demands of today's world.
Provide an ideal start to your child's education which will create a desire for life long learning.
Most importantly, we want Newton Primary School to be a place where your child will feel safe, happy and welcome and embrace the magic of childhood.
Headteacher's Welcome
On behalf of everyone at Newton Primary I would like to welcome you to our school website.
Newton Primary school is an exciting place to learn. We have a strong focus on the teaching of reading, writing and mathematics. Alongside this, our topic based curriculum provides our pupils with a broad range of opportunities to learn more about the world in which they live. The teachers work hard to build on our children's interests by incorporating educational visits and school based workshops. We want our children to enjoy coming to school and to feel enthusiastic about their learning.
We are a well resourced school where high expectations, good teaching and an extremely dedicated staff mean that each child is treated as an individual. We aim to provide all children with the right balance of challenge and support, whatever their ability.
We hope to work in close partnership with parents because we know that we share the same goals. We want our children to respect others and learn in a happy, safe environment and to develop the academic and social skills that they will need to succeed at secondary school and beyond.
I hope that you will find plenty of useful information on the pages of our website. However, the best way to learn more about us is to visit and see for yourself what happens on a daily basis. Please contact the School Office to arrange an appointment.
Mrs Parente, Mrs Shepherd or Mrs Williams can be contacted on tel. 01244 667930.
Yours sincerely
