Please find an overview of Year 4 below. This outlines all the subjects and topics we will cover across the year (subject to change).

Homework

All homework will be sent home on a Friday to be returned on the following Friday.

Homework not completed on time, without a valid reason, will be completed during Friday playtimes and lunchtime.

Please try and remind your child to bring their orange homework book every Friday so that they can stick in any sheets.

Each week there will be:

Spellings. These will be 10 words that follow a certain pattern plus 5 challenge spellings which are often linked to our Topic work

A Maths or English task which may be on the Seesaw App, in homework books or on MyMaths.

Children will be given school reading books and these can be changed whenever they are finished. Please ensure your child brings their reading record on a Friday so that they can be checked for the Reading Stars Challenge.

Learning Log homework will be sent home once every 1/2 term. The children will be given a few weeks to complete the given task.

PE

PE Days are Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday will be indoor PE and Friday will be outdoor PE. Please ensure appropriate footwear is provided for these days.

Please ensure that children are in correct PE kits on these days. Football kits and bright colours are not allowed. Please see Parent Information Sheet if unsure.

Trips

During Year 4, the children will have the chance to go on our residential to Burwardsley. This will involve a 3 day/2 night stay during the week commencing 12th May 2025. Further details will be sent out during the Autumn Term.

There will be an initial meeting taking place in the first few weeks of the Autumn Term in the Large Hall. Further details will be shared once the school year has begun.
